IKEA kitchen fitter in Hertfordshire
IKEA kitchens arrive flat-packed, and the difference between a good IKEA kitchen and a disappointing one is almost entirely in the fitting. I assemble the Metod cabinets, hang them on the rail, level everything and fit the worktops, so it looks like the one in the showroom.
How it works
Three steps, one person
Plan it with IKEA
Use the IKEA kitchen planner or book a planning appointment, then send me the plan and a few photos of the room. If you'd like the room measured first, I'll do that, which avoids ordering units that don't fit.
I quote for the fit
A fixed written price for assembling and fitting everything on the plan, including worktops, sink, tap and appliances. Gas and electrics are done by the Gas Safe registered and qualified trades I manage.
Delivery, then the fit
Book me for after the delivery date. I build the cabinets, fix the rail, hang and level the units, fit the doors, drawers, fillers and cover panels, and cut and joint the worktops.

What to know about fitting an IKEA kitchen
- IKEA's Metod system hangs the cabinets on a steel rail fixed to the wall, so the wall fixings and the levelling of that rail decide how straight the whole kitchen looks. That's where a fitter earns their money.
- Every cabinet comes flat-packed, so assembly is part of the job. A medium kitchen is a day or two of building before anything goes on the wall.
- Doors like Bodbyn, Veddinge, Ringhult, Voxtorp and Lerhyttan all hang on the same Metod carcasses. Fillers and cover panels are what make them look built-in rather than bolted on.
- Worktops: IKEA laminate worktops are cut and jointed on site. If you want quartz, it's templated once the units are in.
- IKEA appliances and sinks are fitted and connected as part of the job, as are appliances from any other maker.

What customers say
Amazing craftsmanship! Attention to the last detail, everything was covered and completed to perfection. Very tidy, no mess. Just got on with things and the end result was an amazing kitchen. I would highly recommend
Great service from start to finish! Professional, reliable, and excellent quality of work. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy local builder.
Jeremy has recently fitted a new kitchen at my property and also project managed the refurbishment. I can highly recommend his services, he is highly skilled, professional and knowledgeable. Very punctual and reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and happy to provide pictures to support his work.
My wife and I were looking for a skilled trades person to help us with our kitchen redesign and subsequent fitting of new worktops, sink and units including new hob and fitted ovens. After being let down by other so called trades persons in the past we were delighted when we met Jeremy.
He was very friendly and what we would call a professional in his area of expertise. He guided us along the process of designing our kitchen and saw things we would never have anticipated. He was also flexible as we had to wait for some extra side panels to arrive after a delivery went wrong, and he also sourced us professionals to fit our gas appliances.
We are so glad we found Jeremy and we were delighted with the work he did for us, and would easily recommend Jeremy to family and friends without hesitation.

Questions people ask about IKEA kitchens
Doesn't IKEA fit kitchens?
IKEA offers fitting through third-party installers. Many people prefer an independent local fitter they've met, with one fixed price and one person responsible from the first measure to the snag visit.
Do you assemble the flat-pack cabinets?
Yes. Assembling the cabinets is part of the fit, and it's included in the price.
Can you check my IKEA plan before I order?
Yes. I'll measure the room and check the plan against it. It avoids units that don't fit and the wait for replacements.
Will you fit IKEA worktops and appliances?
Yes. Laminate worktops are cut and jointed on site, quartz is templated once the units are in, and integrated appliances, sink and tap are fitted and connected.
How long does an IKEA kitchen take to fit?
Most small to medium kitchens take 5–7 working days on site, including assembly. I'll tell you which days you'll be without a sink and a cooker.
