DIY Kitchens fitter in Hertfordshire
DIY Kitchens deliver rigid, pre-assembled units straight to your door and leave the fitting to you. If you'd rather it was fitted by someone who does it every week, send me your DIY Kitchens plan and I'll give you a fixed price for the fit.
How it works
Three steps, one person
Plan and order
Use the DIY Kitchens planner or their design service, then send me the plan and a few photos of the room before you confirm the order. I'll check it against the room so you don't order units that won't fit.
I quote for the fit
A fixed written price for fitting everything on the plan, including worktops, sink, tap and appliances. Gas and electrics are done by the Gas Safe registered and qualified trades I manage.
Delivery, then the fit
Check the units on delivery and photograph any damage straight away, because replacements take time. Then I take the old kitchen out, fit the new one to the plan and cut and joint the worktops.

What to know about fitting a DIY Kitchens order
- The St Albans kitchen below came from DIY Kitchens: grey units, brass handles and a waterfall-edge peninsula.
- The units arrive fully built, with doors and drawers fitted, so the fit is about getting them level, true and fixed properly in a room that is rarely square.
- Because there's no fitting service, the plan is only checked by you. I'd rather look at it before you order than after it's delivered.
- Worktops: laminate is cut and jointed on site; quartz and granite are templated once the units are in.
- Appliances, sink and tap from any supplier are fitted and connected as part of the job.
- If you have your own plumber and electrician, ask for a dry fit.

What a fit usually costs
Real figures from my recent jobs. Your quote is fixed once I've seen the room and the plan.
Most small to medium kitchens take 5–7 working days on site. Refurbishments take longer, and I'll tell you how long before we start.

- Cutting, jointing and sealing worktops
- Fitting the sink, tap and integrated appliances
- Plinths, cornice, end panels and fillers scribed to the room
- A snag visit and sign-off
I can also arrange
- Gas and electrical work
- Moving plumbing or knocking through walls
- Plastering, tiling and flooring
- Stone and quartz worktops, templated once the units are in

What customers say
Amazing craftsmanship! Attention to the last detail, everything was covered and completed to perfection. Very tidy, no mess. Just got on with things and the end result was an amazing kitchen. I would highly recommend
Jeremy has recently fitted a new kitchen at my property and also project managed the refurbishment. I can highly recommend his services, he is highly skilled, professional and knowledgeable. Very punctual and reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and happy to provide pictures to support his work.
My wife and I were looking for a skilled trades person to help us with our kitchen redesign and subsequent fitting of new worktops, sink and units including new hob and fitted ovens. After being let down by other so called trades persons in the past we were delighted when we met Jeremy.
He was very friendly and what we would call a professional in his area of expertise. He guided us along the process of designing our kitchen and saw things we would never have anticipated. He was also flexible as we had to wait for some extra side panels to arrive after a delivery went wrong, and he also sourced us professionals to fit our gas appliances.
We are so glad we found Jeremy and we were delighted with the work he did for us, and would easily recommend Jeremy to family and friends without hesitation.
Great service from start to finish! Professional, reliable, and excellent quality of work. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy local builder.

Questions people ask about DIY Kitchens kitchens
Will you check my DIY Kitchens plan before I order?
Yes, and I'd recommend it. I measure the room and check the plan against it, which avoids ordering units that don't fit and waiting for replacements.
The units have arrived. How soon can you start?
Send me photos and the plan today and I'll reply the same working day with a date. I'm one person, so I book up a few weeks ahead; the earlier you tell me the delivery date, the better.
Do you fit the worktops and appliances?
Yes. Laminate worktops are cut and jointed on site, quartz is templated once the units are in, and integrated appliances, sink and tap are fitted and connected.
How long does the fit take?
Most small to medium kitchens take 5–7 working days on site. I'll tell you which days you'll be without a sink and a cooker.
Which areas do you cover?
From Letchworth and Hitchin across to Harpenden and St Albans, and down to Hertford and Ware. If you're just outside, ask anyway.
My work
A DIY Kitchens kitchen I've fitted
This St Albans kitchen came from DIY Kitchens: grey units, brushed brass bar handles and a marble-effect worktop that wraps down the end of the peninsula in a waterfall edge. Getting the pattern to run cleanly round that corner takes careful templating and jointing. Every photo is my own work; the full gallery is on the main page.
